    Antons Takes Vredevelt Title, Ferguson Falls in Quarters at Big Tens

    Big Ten Singles Championships Results Get Acrobat Reader

    MADISON, Wisc. - Sophomore Lachlan Ferguson won three straight matches at the Big Ten Singles Championships to advance to the quarterfinals. The #2 seed in the tournament fell in the quarters to Dino Bilankov of Minnesota.

    Ferguson defeated Pete Rispoh of Northwestern (6-0, 6-7, 7-5), and took care of Alexander Thams, another Wildcat (4-6, 6-2, 6-2), to advance to the quarters. He then squared off with Dino Bilankov of Minnesota for a spot in the semifinals. Bilankov took the match 5-7, 7-6, 6-4.

    Also finding success on the day was senior Peter Antons, who finished out his run in the Black Flight of the Vredevelt Invitational at Western Michigan. Antons defeated Alasdair Graetz of DePaul (1-6, 6-1, 1-0 (7)) to earn the championship.
