    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 62 Indiana men's tennis team will travel to South Bend, Ind., to battle No. 34 Notre Dame on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

    IU News and Notes:

    *** Indiana is ranked 62nd in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll and senior Jakub Praibis stands 90th in the country among Division I players.

    *** Four players rank among the Midwest Region's best: Praibis ranks sixth overall, while freshman Michael McCarthy is 26th in the singles standings. The pair of senior Ryan Recht and junior John Stone opened at 11th in the first region doubles ranking of the year.

    *** The Hoosiers return all eight letterwinners from a year ago and welcome a pair of strong newcomers to this year's squad. Last year's team finished fourth in the Big Ten and will be anchored by Praibis at the No. 1 singles position. The Litomerice, Czech Republic, product was a 2004 All-Big Ten performer and earned a spot in the main draw of the 2004 NCAA Championship.

    *** Senior Ryan Recht played a majority of the season at the No. 2 singles slot last year and he, along with Praibis, give IU a strong 1-2 punch at top of the lineup.

    *** Michael McCarthy had a strong freshman fall, registering a team-best 9-3 ledger. Junior Dmytro Ishtuganov had a productive fall with a record of 6-4.
