BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's tennis team remained undefeated on Saturday, Jan. 20, with a 6-1 win over Toledo and a 7-0 victory over Murray State.

Indiana swept Toledo and Murray State at No. 1 through No. 4 singles. Senior David Bubenicek, junior Dara McLoughlin and junior Michael McCarthy are all 4-0 at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles in dual meets this season, respectively.

Bubenicek, ranked 48th in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), easily defeated Toledo's Jared Miller (6-1, 6-1) and Murray State's Fadi Zamjaoui (6-1, 6-2).

Junior Thomas Richer, a transfer from Birmingham-Southern who was ranked at 119th by the ITA in April 2006, has proven to be a strong addition to the team at No. 3 singles. He went 2-0 on the day.

Indiana also won the doubles point during both matches, sweeping all six matches. The duo of senior Arnaud Roussel and McCarthy earned a tough, 8-7 victory against Keith Morgan and Chris Clark of Toledo.

Indiana, ranked at No. 58 by the ITA, has also defeated Morehead State (6-1) and IPFW (7-0) so far this season.

"The first four matches were good," head coach Ken Hydinger said. "We were able to get comfortable on the court, get conditioned, and test our concentration. All up and down the lineup, it's been good for our team. We go to work on Monday for a big match with Notre Dame next week."

Notre Dame is currently ranked 13th by the ITA. The Hoosiers will travel to South Bend on Monday, Jan. 29, to take on the Fighting Irish at 4 p.m. in their first road match of the season.
