BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After two days at home following their match at Kentucky, the Indiana men's tennis team is back on the road as they travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the ITA Kickoff, hosted by Virginia.

The Hoosiers will compete against Samford on Friday Jan. 24 at 2:00 p.m. and matchup against either Virginia or Elon on Saturday Jan. 25.

The sixth annual ITA Kick-Off Weekend will feature 120 teams that will compete across the country for the 30 berths at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The ITA Division I National Women's Team Indoor Championships will be hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, while the ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championships will be hosted by Texas A&M University in Houston.

The 25 universities hosting ITA Kick-Off Weekend events were designated as host sites in order of their year-end 2013 ITA team ranking, with five schools serving as dual gender sites. Three visiting schools will travel to each host site for a four-team tournament with the host school facing the No. 4 seed and the No. 2 seed playing the No. 3 seed. The winners will come back the following day to play for a berth at the 2014 ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

IU head coach Randy Bloemendaal said his team is young, but has the pieces to be successful.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how we will respond from our previous match and continue to move forward in a positive manner."
