    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana will open the spring portion of its home schedule on Saturday, Jan. 29, with a pair of matches in the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers will welcome Butler and Murray State into Bloomington for the round robin format. The Cream and Crimson battle Murray State at 9 a.m., then followed by a Butler-Murray State tilt at 1:00 p.m. Indiana and Butler will play the final contest of the day at 5 p.m. Admission to the day of matches is free.

    ***IU looks to rebound after falling 5-2 at No. 34 Notre Dame on Jan. 22. Seniors Jakub Praibis and Ryan Recht garnered victories at the No. 1 and 2 singles spots, respectively. Both bested Irish players ranked nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Praibis beat No. 77 Stephen Bass, 6-4, 7-5, and Recht downed No. 113 Barry King, 6-3, 6-3. The duo of junior Dmytro Ishtuganov and Praibis won at the No. 2 doubles position.

    ***After a fall season that saw him go 9-3, freshman Michael McCarthy earned a spot at the No. 4 singles position against the Irish.

    ***The Hoosiers are ranked 62nd in the latest ITA poll and Praibis stands 61st in the country among Division I players.

    ***Four players rank among the Midwest Region's best: Praibis ranks sixth overall, while M. McCarthy stands in 26th in the singles standings. The pair of Recht and junior John Stone opened at 11th in the first region doubles ranking of the year.
