    Capture First Match of Spring

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -The No. 62 Indiana men's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring with a 7-0 victory over Murray State on Saturday afternoon in the IU Varsity Tennis Center. The Hoosiers claimed all three doubles matches and the six singles contests, without dropping a set, en route to the win over the Racers.

    The team of senior Ryan Recht and junior John Stone won at the No. 1 doubles position by the score of 8-2 over Fadi Zamjaoui and Chris Morgan.

    The duos of senior Jakub Praibis and junior Dmytro Ishtuganov, along with freshmen Michael McCarthy and Dara McLoughlin, won at spots No. 2 and 3, respectively.

    In singles action, Praibis, ranked 61st in the country, defeated Zamjaoui in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-2. McCarthy, playing at the No. 2 slot, won his 10th match of the year with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Morgan.

    Ishtuganov captured his third position match, 6-3, 6-2, against Pompeu, while Stone was victorious, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 versus Clayton Clark.

    Senior Tom Bagnato and sophomore David Bubenicek also earned singles wins for the Cream and Crimson.

    The Hoosiers will return to the courts this evening against Butler at 5 p.m.
