    IU vs. MTSU Match Notes

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - No. 67 Indiana will host No. 57 Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, Feb. 5, in the IU Varsity Tennis Center. The match is slated for 5 p.m. The contest will be part of the IU's annual "Dinner with Doubles" event. Admission to the match is $6.00 and includes an all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut buffet (pizza, salad and soft drink). Raffle tickets will also be sold and prizes will be given away between the doubles and singles matches.

    IU News & Notes:

    *** Indiana improved to 2-1 on the season with a pair of wins over Murray State (7-0) and Butler (7-0) on Jan. 29. In both matches, the Cream and Crimson claimed all three doubles matches and the six singles contests, without dropping a set, en route to the victories.

    *** Senior Jakub Praibis, ranked 61st in the nation, is 3-0 at the No. 1 doubles position for the Hoosiers this spring. With two doubles wins over the weekend, Praibis, and his doubles partner, junior Dmytro Ishtuganov pushed their record to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 in dual matches.

    *** Freshman Michael McCarthy now has a team-best 11-4 record on the year. He improved his dual match record to 2-1 with a pair of victories over the weekend. Fellow classmate Dara McLoughlin earned his first collegiate dual match victory on Saturday versus Butler.

    *** The Hoosiers are ranked 67th in the latest ITA poll (2/1) and Praibis stands 61st in the country among Division I players.

    *** Four players rank among the Midwest Region's best: Praibis ranks sixth overall, while McCarthy stands in 26th in the singles standings. The pair of senior Ryan Recht and junior John Stone opened at 11th in the first region doubles ranking of the year.
