With the match decided already, the Hoosiers dropped the last two matches in three-sets.
Head Coach Ken Hydinger said, "I am happy to get the win and I thought that we played well. Northwestern has a great amount of talent. We played tentative in the beginning, but we fought our way through it. I think the team has high aspirations for the season and I think that if we think that we should beat someone, then we should jump on them from the start."
The Hoosiers will continue their season tomorrow with a home match against #43 Ball State at 3 p.m. The match will take place at the IU Tennis Center.
