Men's Tennis Prepared to Compete Against Charlotte and NC State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's tennis team (7-2) heads south for the second consecutive weekend, traveling to Raleigh, N.C. First up is a noon showdown with the Charlotte 49ers (4-7) on Friday. Indiana will also compete against the Wolfpack of North Carolina State (5-3) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
"Playing an outdoor match against a solid team is always a difficult task when you have had no time on outdoor courts at home, but I believe out guys are up for the challenge against Charlotte," said Head Coach Randy Bloemendaal. "Charlotte has a several good players at the top of their line-up and they will keep a lot of balls in play.

"NC State is very well coached and they have the experience of making the final eight in last year's NCAA tournament," said Bloemendaal. "Our guys need to learn from the mistakes they made last week for us to move forward. The 'test' is on Sunday and I believe this will be a great opportunity make a mark outside of our region."
Sunday's match is a showing of two nationally-ranked squads as the Hoosiers came in at No. 56 in this week's ITA rankings while NC State is slotted No. 30 in the country. The Wolfpack's tandem of Nick Cavaday and Jay Weinacker are also present in the rankings, posted as the ninth-best doubles team nationally.
