BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana senior men's tennis player Jakub Praibis has been named as one of the 2005 recipients for the Scholastic Achievement Award. The IU Varsity Club, to honor and acknowledge the academic excellence of one athlete every year in each varsity sport, established the Indiana University Scholastic Achievement Award in 1979.

The Varsity Club is the fundraising organization for men's and women's athletic scholarships at Indiana University. They are committed to maintaining Indiana's excellence in academics and athletics, and it's their privilege to acknowledge the accomplishments of these fine student-athletes.

Each year, the recipients of this award have their names permanently displayed on a plaque in the north lobby of Assembly Hall.
