    Praibis Vaults in ITA Rankings

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Propelled by a win over then-No. 14 and undefeated Kevin Anderson of Illinois, Jakub Praibis vaulted to 56th in the current Intercollegiate Tennis Association player rankings released March 8. He moved up 44 spots from his standing of 100th in the Feb. 22 poll.

    The IU senior defeated Anderson, who entered the match with an unblemished mark of 13-0, in a three-set thriller, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Praibis also defeated Mark Barry of Penn State, 6-3, 6-4, as the Hoosiers blanked Penn State 7-0 on March 6.

    The Litomerice, Czech Republic, product has now beaten five ranked opponents this season and 12 for his career. He is 8-2 at the No. 1 singles spot this spring and 12-6 on the year.

    The tandem of Praibis and Dmytro Ishtuganov fell three spots to 57th in the country in the doubles rankings.

    The Hoosiers will return to the courts tomorrow, March 9, for a showdown at No. 28 Kentucky. The match will be played at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Center and is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
