Men's Tennis Hosts Louisville Wednesday
March 26, 2012
Indiana men's tennis (14-4, 2-1, ranked No. 21) plays three matches this week, including a home match with No. 43 Louisville at 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday and road Big Ten battles at Michigan State on Saturday and at No. 28 Michigan on Sunday.
The Cardinals have had IU's number lately, as the Hoosiers have lost five straight to Louisville. The last IU win over Louisville came on February 18, 2005. The Hoosiers will look to break that streak on Wednesday. U of L is 12-8 this season and have a ranked doubles tandem in No. 55 Andrew Carter and Albert Wagner.
The Hoosiers have won 10 straight over the Spartans, and the last time IU fell to MSU was April 6, 2003. State is 12-8 on the year and 1-3 in Big Ten play. The Spartans are coming off of a 6-1 win at Wisconsin.
Michigan is 9-5 this season and is led by No. 10 Evan King. King will be the eighth player that the IU team has played this season who is ranked among the top 15. King and Shaun Bernstein are also the No. 15 doubles tandem in the nation. IU won last year's contest 4-3, en route to a 9-1 Big Ten campaign and will look to top the Wolverines again this Sunday.
