Hoosiers Knock off No. 56 Penn State
STATE COLLEGE, Pa.--The Indiana men's tennis team bounced back from a tough loss in Columbus yesterday to upset the No. 56 Penn State Nittany Lions , 6-1 on Sunday afternoon in State College. The Hoosiers move to 8-8 on the year and 2-2 in Big Ten Play. Penn State drops to 11-5 overall and 2-2 in the Big Ten.
The Cream and Crimson got off on to a good start as they swept the doubles point after No. 1 doubles Ryan Recht/John Stone defeated Malcolm Scatliffe/ Roddy Cantey, 8-6, No. 2 Jakub Praibis/Dmytro Ishtuganov took care of Bradeley Hunter/ Clint Keithley. 8-5 and Neil Kenner/Ryan McCarthy downed Ryan Berger/ Aaron Ellis, 8-1.
The Hoosiers then used momentum from the doubles competition to win five of its six matches in singles. Praibis had a strong outing at the No. 1 spot as he beat reigning Big Ten Player of the Week, Malcolm Scatliffe, 3-6, 6-1, 7-5. Indiana also got wins at the two, three, four and five spots to help earn the 6-1 victory.

Indiana is back in action with a two-match home stand next weekend, April 9-10. The Hoosiers face Michigan State on Friday at 1:00 p.m. and Michigan on Saturday at Noon. Both matches will be played at the IU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
