Big Ten Road Trip Takes Hoosiers West
April 4, 2012
Indiana men's tennis (14-7, 2-3, ranked No. 33) enters the weekend looking to break a three-match losing streak. The Hoosiers will have to do it on the road as they travel to Iowa and No. 68 Nebraska on Friday and Sunday respectively.
The Hoosiers have won two straight against the Hawkeyes with Iowa's last win over IU coming in Iowa City on April 5, 2009, meaning this match will be played exactly three years and one day after the last Iowa win in the series. This year's Hawkeyes are 1-14 and haven't won a match since January, meaning an upset of the ranked Hoosiers would be a big win.
Nebraska is 8-9 this season and is 1-3 in Big Ten play. The Huskers in their first season in the Big Ten Conference have only played the Hoosiers once all-time. The Feb. 7, 2009 matchup saw the Huskers prevail 4-3. Nebraska has a pair of nationally ranked singles players in No. 79 Christopher Aumueller and No. 95 Benedikt Lindheim.
