    Hoosiers Fall To Wolverines 4-3

Bloomington, IN-The 49th-ranked men's tennis team dropped a close match to #43 Michigan (13-1, 6-0 Big Ten) 4-3 today, despite Gabriel Montilla picking up his 50th career singles win.

The Hoosiers (10-7, 2-3 Big Ten) started the day off by dropping the doubles point by losing two out of the three matches. Ian Arons and Ricardo Jordan were the only doubles team to win defeating John Long and Jake Raiton 9-8.

The Hoosiers went on to split the six singles matches. Montilla snapped his personal seven-match losing streak by defeating William Farah 6-3,6-4, at No. 2. At No. 3, George McGill won the battle of the unbeaten, by defeating the current Big Ten Player-of-the-Week John Long 6-2,2-6,7-5. Milan Rakvica increased his winning streak to 12, with a win over Danny McCain 6-2,6-1.

Coach Hydinger, "I thought that we played hard today. When Gabe (Montilla) won at the No. 2 position, I thought that we were going to win the match. Michigan played tougher than I thought that they would at the No 5 and No. 6 positions. It is important that we come to beat Michigan State tomorrow, because we will be above .500 with a win."

The Hoosiers will be on the court again at noon tomorrow, as they will host Michigan State.
