Lachlan Ferguson Named All-Big Ten
April 29, 2010
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Lachlan Ferguson is an All-Big Ten selection for the second straight season, the conference announced on Thursday. Ferguson is one of 25 Hoosiers to earn the distinction and one of just 10 to garner all-conference accolades more than once. The senior from Adelaide Australia finished the season 17-9 in singles and 20-9 in doubles.
"Lachlan has been the embodiment of what we want our student-athletes to strive to be," head coach Randy Bloemendaal said. "For him to earn All-Big Ten honors in back-to-back years cements his place in IU history."
This season, Ferguson has been key to the Hoosiers success in dual matches. He has a season mark of 12-6 in dual match singles and 18-8 in dual match doubles. His 69 career doubles wins rank as the seventh-most in school history
Next up for Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament are the Michigan Wolverines at 3:30 pm on Friday. For complete coverage of IU men's tennis, stay tuned to IUHoosiers.com.
