Praibis Earns All Big Ten
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--Junior Jakub Praibis was named to the All-Big Ten Team, the league office announced on Friday. This marks the first time in Praibis's career he has been awarded this honor.
Praibis, who plays at the No. 1 position for the Hoosiers, has racked up an overall record of 13-6 this season and has teamed up with Dmytro Ishtuganov to go 16-3 at No.2 and 3. The duo is currently on a nine-match winning streak.
This All-Big Ten honor is not the first award Praibis has received this season from the conference office. The Litomerice, Czech Republic, product was also named Big Ten Athlete of the Week during for the period ending March 5 for his performances against North Carolina State and then-No. 27 Virginia. Praibis became the first Hoosier men's tennis player ever to receive this honor. Then- unranked Praibis produced a perfect weekend in singles and doubles, including upsetting the No. 18 player in the country, the Cavaliers' 18th-ranked Doug Stewart in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Praibis' name has also appeared in the ITA Polls for six-straight weeks. He currently boasts a No. 51 ranking, the highest in his career.
