BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Jakub Praibis will battle Stephane Rod of Virginia Tech in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championship Wednesday, May 25, at the Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M University. The contest is slated to begin at 10 a.m.

Praibis was named to the All-Big Ten first team for the second consecutive season. The Litomerice, Czech Republic, product was one of six unanimous selections on the team and became just the eighth all-time Hoosier to garner the league honor twice.

The senior closed the year with a 22-10 overall record and an 8-2 mark in Big Ten play. He had a dual slate of 18-6 that included a winning streak of seven matches.

During the season, Praibis faced eight players that either earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Singles Championship or were chosen as alternates. He was 3-5 in those contests.

Rod, a senior from Lausanne, Switzerland, was a 2005 All-ACC selection. He posted a dual record of 13-7 and helped Virginia Tech to a 13-11 overall ledger. Rod will compete in his first NCAA Championship and defeated three of the six higher-ranked opponents he faced during the season.
