Indiana University will host a leg of the 2007 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Collegiate Summer Circuit presented by the United States Tennis Association (USTA). One of four Midwest tournaments will be held in Bloomington, July 28-31 at IU's Varsity Tennis Courts.

The ITA Summer Circuit is made up of five regional circuits (East, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West) with each region sponsoring four consecutive tournaments played in the month of July, concluding with the National Summer Championships. The Circuit, which provides college tennis players an opportunity to compete in organized tournaments in the summer, is the product of Indiana head women's tennis coach Lin Loring. Over 15,000 student-athletes have participated in ITA's summer play since the tournament's inception in 1993.

Indiana will host the Summer National Championships for the seventh consecutive year, Aug. 11-15. The men's and women's singles and doubles champions of the Summer Championships will earn a bid to the ITA All-American Championships.

"I, along with the entire Indiana Tennis program are excited and honored to host the Summer Naitonal Championships for the seventh straight year," said Assistant Women's Tennis Coach Ramiro Azcui. "We are looking foraward to the regional and national events coming to our campus."

Junior Stephanie Heller will compete in the regional tournament this weekend. The Northbrook, Illinois native is an Alphabetical Seed (5-8) and is scheduled to play the winner of the Shannon Vivian/Austin Lavallii match.

Indiana's Brianna Williams and Sigrid Fischer had a great run through the Naitonal Chmapionship Tournament last season before eventually falling, 8-2, in the women's doubles bracket.
