Ishtuganov reaches Quarterfinals at ITA Summer National Championships

Bloomington, Ind. - Former Hoosier Dmytro Ishtuganov advanced to the quarterfinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Summer National Championships on Aug. 13, hosted by Indiana University.
Ishtuganov won his lone match of the day, 6-2, 6-3, against Lennie Gullan of North Carolina. The Keiv, Ukraine native, who is seeded first in the tournament, will face ninth-seeded Brady Crosby of Western Michigan on Monday, Aug. 14 at 8 a.m. on the Varsity Tennis Courts in his next match.
Also competing in the tournament for IU, junior Michael McCarthy was eliminated from the tournament in his only match of the day. He fell 7-5, 6-2, to ninth-seeded Andrew Stubbs of Wofford.
McCarthy finished his sophomore season with a 20-17 overall record, while Ishutganov recently completed his four years of eligibility for the Hoosiers. He had a career-high 21 singles wins in his senior season.
