    HOOSIERS TRAVEL TO SOUTH CAROLINA FOR TOURNAMENT

    Men To Play In Clemson Invitational

    ON TAP...The Hoosiers will travel down to Clemson, South Carolina to take part in the Clemson Invitational this weekend. The event will take place from Friday to Sunday and the Hoosiers will send six or seven players to compete.

    LAST WEEK...The Hoosiers had a busy week sending six players to three tournaments. Ian Arons played in the National Clay Court Championships in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday. He lost in the opening round of qualifying to Nenad Zivkovic of the University of Nevada Las Vegas 9-7. During the weekend the Hoosiers participated in the Tam Fallon Invitational in Notre Dame, Indiana and the Ball State Invitational in Muncie, Indiana. Gabriel Montilla was successful as he reached the finals of the A Singles Draw at the Tom Fallon, before losing to Robert Collins of Rice in the finals 6-4,6-4. Paul Jacobson captured 5th-Place in the consolation draw by defeating Andrew Laflin of Notre Dame 6-3,5-7,6-2.

    SCOUTING REPORT...The Hoosiers return all ten players from a 14-10 team a year ago. Leading the Hoosiers this year will be seniors Gabriel Montilla, George McGill and Ricardo Jordan. Junior's Ian Arons, Paul Jacobson and Milan Rakvica all made huge jumps last year and will be looked on to make another huge jump this year. Sophomore Rahman Smiley rounds up last year's starting lineup.

    RECAPPING LAST YEAR...The Hoosiers made a huge jump last year as a team, finishing with a 14-10 overall record, while going 6-5 in the Big Ten and making it to the NCAA Tournament. Ian Arons became the Hoosiers No. 1 player in the beginning of the season and went on to get All-Big Ten First Team honors. George McGill went a perfect 10-0 during Big Ten singles play. Milan Rakvica, went on to win 30 matches in his first year on the team.

    COACH KEN HYDINGER...is in his 16th season as the Head Coach of the men's tennis team. He has a overall record of 233-158-1, while going 104-80 in the Big Ten. Coach Hydinger has been a coach at the collegiate level for 21 years, coaching at Southwest Missouri State and Mississippi before coming to Indiana. In his 20 years of coaching he has a record of 299-203-1.
