Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana junior tennis player, Ryan Recht (Fort Wayne, Ind.), will participate in the singles section of the Icy Hot/ITA Men’s All American Tennis Championships held in Chattanooga, Tenn., on October 7-12.

Recht, who is No. 93 in the preseason ITA rankings, qualified to participate in this event during the 2003 ITA Summer Nationals in Bloomington, Ind., after taking a second-place finish.

“This is the first time I have been ranked and it’s a really nice feeling to see yourself among the best college tennis players,” said Recht. “This is will be my first time going there, so a lot of things will be new. I just want to stick to my game and see how I can do.”

The Icy Hot/ITA Men’s All-American Championships is not only the largest single tournament of this season in collegiate tennis, with over 300 competitors, but also the first of three national championship events at the Division I level during the 2003-04 collegiate tennis season. This event includes 256-singles players and 128-doubles teams.

His teammate, Jakub Praibis (Litomerice, Czech Republic), who is No. 70 in the preseason ITA rankings, was originally scheduled to participate but will not make the trip due to a shoulder injury.
