BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's tennis team will be hosting the Hoosier Invitational on Oct. 20-22 at the Varsity Tennis Courts. In addition, the team will be sending three players, David Bubenicek, Dara McLoughlin and Michael McCarthy, to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Midwest Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Peter Antons, Paul Boskovich, Mak Kendall and Arnaud Roussel will represent Indiana at the Hoosier Invitational. Louisville, Purdue, Dayton, Wisconsin and Western Kentucky will field teams at the Invitational.

"We've been working hard the last few weeks in our conditioning and our game, and I think we've made some major strides," head coach Ken Hydinger said. "We're hoping to put it all together this weekend and start making some more noise in the Midwest and on the national scene.

"We've got some guys who are ready to make some jumps, and that's what we're looking for. We've got the Big Ten Singles Championship in a few weeks, and that's where we want to have everything come together."

The Hoosiers opened the season at the Cincinnati Invitational on Sept. 22-24. Bubenicek (3-1) and Kendall (3-0) led the team with three singles wins each. One of Bubenicek's early wins came against No. 76 Andrew Hamar of Wake Forest, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (5). Kendall defeated foes from Michigan State, Kentucky and Boston University.

McLoughin (2-1) defeated a tough Andrew Brasseaux of Wake Forest in Cincinnati, while his only loss has been a three-set loss to Marc Spicijaric of Illinois. McCarthy (2-2) earned wins over a pair of Big Ten rivals from Wisconsin.

Antons (2-2) has seen all four of his matches this year go into three sets. Two of his wins came over players from Louisville. Boskovich (2-2) also had a pair of three-set victories over Pablo Camacho from Louisville and Xavier's Brian Quinn. Roussel (2-2) has a pair of wins on the year, facing opponents from Boston University and Louisville.

The Hoosier Invitational will be a multiple match format, with play beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Results will be posted at the end of each day on
