Hoosiers Open Play in Big Ten Singles Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Indiana men’s tennis team got off to a strong start as three student-athletes advanced to the round of 32 in the opening round of the Big Ten Singles Championships at Purdue on Friday.
Sophomore Alekzander Davila prevailed over the No. 9 seed Jijs Linders from Michigan State by a score of 7-6 (4), 6-4 and will play at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the round of 32.
Also securing victories for the Hoosiers were Dimitrije Tasic with a straight set 6-4, 6-2 victory over Brandon Videtich from Nebraska and Matthew McCoy, who battled to a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Juan Estenssoro of Iowa. Tasic will continue play at 10:15 a.m. tomorrow and McCoy will take the court at 11:45 a.m.
