    Tasic Advances to Quarterfinals of B1G Singles Championships

    WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Senior Dimitrije Tasic won two matches on the day as he advanced through to the quarterfinals of the singles draw at the Big Ten Singles and Doubles Championships on Saturday at the Schwartz Tennis Center at Purdue.

    Tasic won his first match of the day in a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory over John Zordani from Wisconsin. Tasic came back to claim a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 victory over Northwestern’s Fedor Baev to earn his place in the quarterfinals. Tasic will take on Treyz Beau of Nebraska tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in the quarterfinals.

    Sophomores Elliott Yee and Alekzander Davila also had a productive day for the Hoosiers in doubles. After dropping their match last night the duo advanced all the way to the finals of the consolation bracket, before falling 8-3 against Dierckx and Hagan from Iowa.

    Yee and fellow sophomores Daniel Bednarczyk and Michael Sellitto are still alive in the consolation draw. All three have advanced to the fourth round where they are among 16 still in contention.

    Play will resume with singles main draw and singles consolation rounds at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
