    Recht Wins Consolation Title; Fall Season Completed

    Ann Arbor, Mich. – Junior Ryan Recht (ranked No. 93 in the nation) finished off the fall season for the Hoosiers today by claiming the Big Ten Singles second round consolation title at the Big Ten Singles Championships hosted by the University of Michigan.

    Recht, the only Hoosier left participating after this weekends event, moved on to the semifinals after defeating Mike Barry of Penn State, 6-3, 2-6, 7-16 (12). Recht then advanced to the finals and went up against Chuck Perrin of Northwestern and came back to win the last two matches, 6-2,6-4, after losing, 4-6, in the first match.

    The Hoosiers have completed their fall season and will be back in action on, January 17, 2004, when they host Notre Dame at noon.
