Hoosiers Conclude Alex Wilson Invite with Two More Qualifying Marks

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Indiana men's and women's track and field teams concluded the Alex Wilson Invitational on March 5 with a first-place finish, two NCAA provisional qualifying marks, a pair of personal best records.
In the women's mile, Larra Overton crossed the line in a personal best time of 4:50.71 for eighth place. Despite running the best mile of her career, she fell just over three seconds shy of the provisional mark. Teammate Kelly Siefker finished in 13th place with a time of 4:54.84.
Another Hoosier distance runner, Jessica Gall, stamped her ticket to Fayetteville, Ark., with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000m. Gall's time of 9:33.80 met the NCAA's provisional qualifying mark of 9:35.00 in the event.
On the men's side, Ryan Ketchum topped his personal best mark in the shot put with a first-place throw of 18.92m (62-01.00). Additionally, Ketchum's hurl met the NCAA's provisional mark in the event. Ketchum has met the provisional mark on two occasions this indoor season.
In the men's triple jump, Kyle Jenkins leapt to a sixth-place finish with a leap of 14.81m (48-7.25).
The Hoosiers' final meet of the indoor season is the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., March 10-11.
