    Results

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The outdoor season opened for IU track and field on Thursday, March 25 with the Alabama Relays. The day consisted of heptathlon and decathlon competition. At the end of the day, sophomore Derek Drouin sits in second in the decathlon and in the heptathlon, junior Laura Morris and freshman Courtney Woodard are fifth and sixth respectively.

    Drouin finished the day with a score of 3,711 points, which was just 10 points out of first place. Drouin won the high jump with a clearance of 2.22m (7-3.25), a height that will be good enough to qualify him for the NCAA Preliminary Round in May. Drouin also posted outdoor bests in the long jump (6.78m), 100m dash (11.50), and shot put (10.29m (33-9.25)).

    Morris finished in fifth, with a score of 2, 822. She was just 26 points out of fifth. She won the high jump with a clearance of 1.64m (5-4.5). Woodard was just seven points behind Morris and sits in sixth place with three events to go. Woodard was the second-best collegiate in the high jump with a clearance of 1.55m (5-1).
