    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Junior Vera Neuenswander cleared a career best height to win the pole vault at the Stan Lyons Invitational. The Hoosiers took home two other event wins, as well as a total of 14 top-five finishes. Junior Kayla Smith won the 400m hurdles and helped win the 4x400m relay.

    Neuenswander cleared 4.15m (13-7.25) for the win in the pole vault. Her clearance is the second best in school history. She adds three centimeters to her career best and five to her regional qualification on the season. She finished 5.75 inches better than the second-place finisher, Mallory Peck of Purdue.

    Smith finished in 1:02.06 for first in the 400m hurdles. Senior Audrey Smoot was second in 1:03.42. Smith and Smoot were joined by Lindsey Hartman and Ashley Baker in winning the 4x400m relay. They finished in 3:48.18.

    IU got second place finishes from Hartman in the 400m, freshman Breanne Ehrman in the 800m, and the men's 4x400m relay team of senior John Gunnell, junior Matt Schmitz and freshmen Ryan Hindes and Nico Perrino.

    Other highlights were senior Courtney Freiberger taking third in the javelin with the ninth-best throw in school history and freshman Chelsea Blanchard taking third in the 1500-meters.
