Neville Named IU Athlete of the Week
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize the top performances in Hoosier Athletics by selecting an IU Athlete of the Week. For the week ending Jan. 8, junior men's track and field standout David Neville picked up Athlete of the Week honors.
Neville, who helped the IU men to a second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships with a runner-up finish in the 400m, kicked off the season in thrilling fashion at Jan. 7th's Hoosier Open in Gladstein Fieldhouse. On the newly installed 200m banked track, Neville claimed the 400m crown with a time of 46.67. Neville's winning time surpassed his previous personal best time of 46.95 set Dec. 12, 2005 at the Tyson Invitational. Additionally, Neville's time at the Hoosier Open meets the NCAA's provisional mark in the 400m (47.25).
