PARK RIDGE, Ill. Indiana University senior Aarik Wilson has been named the Big Tens Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week, announced the conference office on Tuesday.
Wilson, who has junior eligibility for the indoor season, earned two victories in the long and triple jump, gaining NCAA provisional marks in both events. Wilson won the long jump with a leap of 7.49 meters, four-hundredths better then the provisional qualifying mark of 7.45. The eight-time All-American then recorded a 15.67 mark in the triple jump, passing the 15.50 NCAA provisional qualifying standard.
The Fallon, Nev., native also placed sixth in the 60-meter dash with a run of 7.06 seconds.
It is the second week in a row that Indiana has received the mens weekly conference honor. Junior Ryan Ketchum won the award last week.
