IU Hosts Purdue, Indiana State and Ohio State at Indiana Open

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Coming off an impressive showing at Jan. 14th's Hoosier Classic, the Indiana men's and women's track and field teams will host Big Ten rivals Ohio State and Purdue and in-state foe Indiana State in the season's first scored team meet, the Indiana Open. The meet is slated for Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11:15 at Gladstein Fieldhouse.

Courtney Johnson (60m hurdles), Stephanos Ioannou (60m hurdles), Stacey Clausing (400m), Treymayne Warfield (400m), Doug Dayhoff (600m), Lauren Keefe (600m), Candice Perry (long jump), Kiwan Lawson (long jump), Jeff Coover (pole vault), Jamie Raklau (pole vault), Indiana A men's and women's relay teams, David Neville (200m), Marcus Thigpen (60m) and Andrea Dalla Rosa (weight throw) all claimed first-place finishes at the Hoosier Classic.
HOOSIER MEN EARN RANKING
To open the 2006 indoor slate, the Hoosiers have recorded 12 individual first-place finishes for the No. 13 ranking. IU shares the ranking with Kansas. Additionally, Indiana is one of three Big Ten teams in this week's rankings. Wisconsin ranks third and Michigan sits at t-15th. David Neville earned two Dandy Dozen rankings in both the 200m and 400m. Sean Jefferson, who broke Jim Spivey's 23-year old record in the mile last season, claimed a No. 1 ranking in the mile. Stephen Haas recorded a No. 8 ranking in both the 3,000m and 5,000m. Haas is the school record holder and an All-American in both events.
