BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior Kyle Jenkins was named Big Ten Field Athlete of The Week on Tuesday, Jan. 23, for his performance at the Indiana Team Classic on Saturday, Jan. 20. This is Jenkins' second honor of the season.

Jenkins took first place in the triple jump at the Classic, leaping for a distance of 15.86 meters (52-50.00), for his second NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the event this season. The leap is currently the longest in the country.

"I am pleased to see that Kyle is improving," interim head men's track and field coach Wayne Pate said. "We're excited about how well he is jumping at this point in the season."

The Hoosiers return to action at the Gladstein Invitational, held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27. Action begins at noon EST on both days.
