SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Aarik Wilson has done it again. Already the school-recorder holder in the triple jump, Wilson captured the school mark in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 8.12m at the Alex Wilson "Last Chance" Meet, held on March 5-6 at the Meyo Track on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. The mark easily passed the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 7.85m.

The school record was 8.06m by Alan Turner at the NCAAs on March 9, 1991. Wilson's previous best was a 7.88m effort at the NCAAs on March 15, 2003.

Senior Wil Fleming took third in the weight throw with a toss of 19.76m. The throw did pass the NCAA provisional standard, but did not surpass Fleming's season-high of 20.12m.

Junior Ryan Ketchum placed second in the shot put with a heave of 17.86m. The throw passed the provisional standard, but, just like Fleming, it did not surpass his season-high mark of 18.55m.

The same case applied to sophomore Stephanos Ioannou. Ioannou finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.90. The time passed the provisional standard, but Ioannou had already qualified earlier in the year with a 7.86.

Senior Rodney Hollis earned seventh in the 800-meter dash with a run of 1:50.33. The mark fell just short of the provisional time of 1:49.50.

Up next for the Cream and Crimson is the NCAA Championship. The meet will be held at the University of Arkansas from March 11-12. For a full list of all the Hoosiers participating please check back with later in the week.
