    HOOSIERS GAIN EXPERIENCE AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

    Indianapolis, Indiana -- Three Hoosiers competed at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday at the RCA Dome.

    Freshman Greg Yeldell was IU's top finisher at 10th in the triple jumpwith a mark of 51-1 1/2. Yeldellentered the meet ranked 10th in the NCAA with a personal best of 51-9 1/4 that he reached to place third at the Big Ten Championships.

    Junior Kurt Krick and freshman Raheem Ellis competed on the first day of competition. Krick won the Big Ten Indoor Championship and entered the NCAA Indoor meet ranked fifth in the shot put at 62-3 1/2. Krick's throw of 58-9 1/2 was not enough to make the finals in the shot. Ellis also missed the finals in the 200m dash. Ellis was also a Big Ten Champion and entered the meet ranked 12th at 21.31. He finished 12th at 21.44.
