    Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana men's distance runners Stephen Haas, Chris Powers and Tom Burns competed at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays in Walnut, Calif., Friday, with both Powers and Haas turning in times that qualify them for the NCAA Regional Meet.

    Powers, who entered the weekend with the ninth-fastest time in the nation in the 5000 meter run with a 14:00.83 mark that has already qualified him for the NCAA Regional Meet, finished 25th in the event Friday with another regional qualifying mark of 14:07.96.

    Haas also ran in the 5000m, finishing 35th with a 14:12.73. His time easily bested the required time of 14:18.58 needed to qualify at regionals in the 5000m and is a new personal best.

    Burns, who is redshirting this outdoor season for the opportunity to qualify for the Olympics, ran unattached in the steeplechase, finishing 7th with a mark of 8:45.04. His time was just shy of the 8:42.00 required to qualify for the Olympic trials.
