    HOOSIERS PLACE SECOND AT COLLEGIATE SERIES

    Bloomington, Ind. -- At the USATC Collegiate Series meet hosted by Indiana, the Hoosiers placed second in the men's standings with 186 points. Men's final standings were 1. Kansas-186, 2. Indiana-182, 3. Indiana State-176, 4. Kentucky-99.

    For the Hoosier men, Russell Brooks captured the 100m (10.61) and the 200m (20.94). Tom Chorny won the steeplechase in 9:05.49, while Bryan Holcomb placed second (9:26.66). Kurt Krick placed in the discus (168-00) and second in the shot put (57-5.50). Brian Bowman placed second in the javelin with a mark of 169-9.

    The men's relay teams won the 4x100m relay as anchor leg Raheem Ellis came from about 10 meters behind for the victory in 40.83, the fastest time for IU this outdoor season. The 4x400m relay won in 3:12.25.
