Indiana Hosts Billy Hayes Invitational Friday Night

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana track and field team will host the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday, May 4, on the Billy Hayes Track at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington.
Friday's field events begin at 4 p.m. ET with the javelin and long jump competitions, while running events open at 4:20 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay.
Senior Marcus Aguilar improved his season-best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase when he crossed the finish line in 9:09.04 to finish 19th in the event at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford. Aguilar clocked his first steeple time of 9:11.72, which he ran at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 13.
Sophomore Jeff Coover led the Hoosiers in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.90 meters for eighth place in day two of the historic Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 27. He recorded his best mark of the season, 4.96m, at the Stanford Invitational on March 31.
