West Lafayette, Indiana -- Seven athletes on the IU men's track and field team scored on the second day of the Big Ten Championships at Rankin Track and Field Saturday.
In the field, junior Kurt Krick scored six points with a third place finish in the discus (53.52m; 175-7). Senior Jeremy Rochford and junior Ben Pister both cleared 2.09m (6-10 1/4) in the high jump to place fourth and seventh, respectively.
On the track, IU senior Tom Chorny finished fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase in 9:05.98. Juniors Aaron Gillen and Chris Ekman took sixth and eighth, respectively in the 1,500m. Gillen ran a 3:50.77 and Ekman ran a season best 3:51.49.
Junior Brian Bowman added one point to the Hoosier's cause with an eighth place finish in the decathlon.
The Big Ten Championships conclude Sunday. Action begins at 12:30 p.m.
