BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Four student-athletes will be representing Indiana at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 6-9, in Sacramento, Calif.

Sophomore Blayne Burkholder earned an automatic bid to nationals after he cleared 5.06 meters to take third in the pole vault at the 2007 NCAA Mideast Regional, hosted by the University of Missouri at the Audrey J. Walton Stadium in Columbia, Mo., on Friday, May 25. The 2007 Big Ten pole vault champion enters the national meet seeded 24th with a mark of 5.15 meters, which he cleared on May 13 at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Burkholder's trip to Sacramento will be the first of his career.

The women's team boasts three qualifiers in seniors Jessica Gall and Lorian Price and freshman Vera Neuenswander, all of which earned at-large bids to the national meet.

Gall is seeded 16th in the 10,000-meter run. Gall, a two-time cross country All-American and the 2007 Big Ten 10,000-meter champion, clocked a time of 33:54.65 in the 10K on March 31 at the Stanford Invitational to provisionally qualify for the national meet. At last season's national meet, Gall placed 11th in the 10,000-meters with a time of 34:21.87.

Price recorded personal-best times in the 100-meter hurdles on both days of last weekend's regional meet to earn IU's second at-large bid. She crossed the finish line in 13.44 to take third in her preliminary heat on Friday. Price then improved that time in the finals on Saturday as she ran a 13.42 to finish eighth overall, which has her seeded 24th.

Price made her last trip to nationals during the outdoor season in 2005. She finished 25th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.97 on June 8, 2005, in Sacramento.

Neuenswander, the top-ranked freshman vaulter in the nation and this year's Big Ten pole vault champion, earned the Hoosiers' final at-large bid and enters the national meet seeded 10th after recording a personal-best and school-record mark of 4.12 meters in the pole vault on May 4 at the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington.

Neuenswander is making her second trip to nationals after competing at the indoor event. The Big Ten Indoor Freshman of the Year cleared 4.00 meters in the vault on March 11 in Fayetteville, Ark. Her mark placed her 12th overall in her first try at the national meet.

The 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State. The qualifying round of the women's pole vault is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 6, while the qualifying round for the men is slated for 9:30 p.m. that evening. The first round of the women's 100-meter hurdles is scheduled for 8:40 p.m., also on Wednesday, and the final for the women's 10,000-meter run is set for 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 7.
