Two Hoosiers Head to USA Junior National Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Freshmen Devin Pipkin and Ben Stephen will represent the Indiana men's track and field team at the USA Junior National Championships this weekend at Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
Pipkin, an Indianapolis native, will compete in the 100- and 200-meter dashes between Friday, June 20-Sunday, June 22. Pipkin opens competition with the first round of the 100 at 3:40 p.m. ET on Friday. The final of the event is set to take place later that evening at 7:10 p.m. The first round of the 200 will be on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m., with the finals at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Pipkin clocked personal-bests of 10.60 in the 100-meters and 21.41 in the 200 meters. His best 100 time came in the preliminary round of the Big Ten Championships on May 17 in Champaign, Ill. His career best time in the 200 was recorded at the Indiana Invitational on April 18 in Bloomington.
Stephen, a native of Liberty, Ind., will compete in the shot put at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Stephen's personal-best mark of 16.86 meters (53-3.75) when he competed unattached at the Indiana Invitational.
