OAK LAWN, Ill. - The No. 13 Indiana University wrestling team improved to 8-0 on the year after sweeping the F.I.T.E. Duals by a combined score of 80-6. The Hoosiers topped Eastern Michigan (2-3-1), 30-6, while blanking the Cougars of SIU-Edwardsville (0-5) by a 50-0 tally.

Eight of the 10 Hoosiers in action won both of their matches on Saturday. Redshirt sophomore Matt Powless garnered the most team points by pinning both of his adversaries. Angel Escobedo, Kurt Kinser, Trevor Perry and Paul Young each recorded a fall as well.

Indiana opened the day against the EMU Eagles. The dual started with the 174-pound bout, where Indiana's Perry won 13-6. The team score was momentarily tied at 3-3 before Powless put IU ahead for good with his first-period pin at 197 pounds. Escobedo, Nate Everhart and Young all contributed four points to the team score, posting major decisions.

In the Hoosiers second clash of the day, IU shut out their second opponent of the year (Indiana shut out Wabash in the season-opening dual). Not only did the Cream and Crimson allow zero points to the Cougars, they racked up 50 points of their own with bonus points coming in eight of 10 matches. Perry wasted little time disposing off his foe, pinning Tim Mahoney in just 15 seconds.
