BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
Mitchell Richey underwent surgery to repair his injured shoulder this week, and will miss the remainder of the season. It marks the second opening-day starter to suffer a season-ending injury after Garret Goldman tore his ACL against Manchester.
Richey jumped immediately into the starting lineup as a true freshman in 2010-11, earning the not in 18 of 19 dual matches that season. The 149-pound junior entered this year with 21 career victories, including six pins, five tech falls and a pair of major decisions.
