Kyle Wins Indiana Intercollegiates, Hoosiers Place Second

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Redshirt sophomore Jordan Kyle took the individual title as the Indiana men's cross country team placed second with 55 points as the Indiana Intercollegiates, hosted by Purdue on Friday, Sept. 14.
Kyle, who recorded his second straight meet win, clocked a personal best time of 24:39.34 in the 8K race out of a field of 194 runners from colleges and universities across the state of Indiana. He was followed by junior Timothy McLeod who finished fifth with a time of 25:18.19. Redshirt junior Brennon Plotner placed sixth with a time of 25:19.52 and redshirt junior Mark Fruin rounded out the Hoosier top 10 with a time of 25:20.33 for seventh.
Also competing for IU in the men's race was redshirt sophomore Tyler McCreary (36th, 26:21.35) and redshirt junior Paul Coover (59th, 26:47.05). In the open race, redshirt sophomore Tom Martin placed fifth overall with a time of 26:47.15. Redshirt freshman Seth Ball (11th, 27:29.57) and redshirt sophomore Evan Bardach (15th, 27:53.65) also competed in the open race.
Indiana State took the men's team title with 47 points and host Purdue rounded out the top three with 136 points.
The Hoosiers are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 29 when they compete at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
