Kyle Places Eighth, Hoosiers Sixth Overall at Roy Griak Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Redshirt sophomore Jordan Kyle paced the Indiana men's cross country team to a sixth place finish with 176 points in the men's 8K gold race at the 22nd Annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday, Sept. 29.
Kyle crossed the finish line in 24:45 to finish eighth overall. Junior Timothy McLeod placed 36th with a time of 25:27. Freshman Cole Hardacre finished 39th with a time of 25:34. Redshirt junior Mark Fruin clocked a time of 25:36 for 41st. Redshirt junior Brennon Plotner placed 52nd in 25:43, while freshmen Ben Hubers (59th, 25:44) and Jacob Rich (79th, 26:04) rounded out the Hoosier pack.
Northern Arizona won the men's gold race with 84 points, while Arizona State finished second with 88 points and Iowa State took third with 99 points. Minnesota finished fourth with 107 points and Virginia wrapped up the top five with 126 points.
The Hoosiers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
