Hoosiers Have Strong Showing at Pre-NCAAs, Take Eighth

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana men's cross country team hit the road this weekend to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Pre-NCAAs. In a competitive race that is a warm-up for the NCAA Championships (Terre Haute, Ind., November, 21), the Hoosiers claimed eighth place in the men's Blue Division of 33 teams.
Stanford took first in the Blue Division with 89 points, while junior Josh Rohatinsky of BYU took individual first-place honors in 23:31. In the men's White Division, Colorado took first place out of 34 teams with 70 points, edging past Notre Dame with 96.
Senior All-American Sean Jefferson finished first for the Hoosiers in his first competitive race of the season. Jefferson finished the 8K race in 24:09 giving him 16th place overall. Also finishing for the Hoosiers were seniors Stephen Haas (41st, 24:28), John Jefferson (43rd, 24:30), and Eric Redman (80th, 24:53), freshman Tim McLeod (81st, 24:54) and junior Marcus Aguilar (124th, 25:16).
Up next for the Hoosiers is the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sunday, October 30. Race time is set for 11:00 a.m.
