McLeod Finishes Eighth at Big Ten Cross Country Championships
Nov. 2, 2008
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Senior Timothy McLeod crossed the finish line in eighth place with a time of 24:51.4 as the Indiana men's cross country team finished fifth as a team with 135 points in the 2008 Big Ten Cross Country Championships at the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor.
McLeod earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors with his finish. Redshirt freshman Andrew Poore placed 17th overall with a time of 25:04.2. Redshirt senior Brennon Plotner crossed the finish line in 29th with a time of 25:23.5. Sophomore Cole Hardacre recorded a time of 25:32.8 to finish in 39th and sophomore Jacob Laird placed 42nd with a time of 25:35.8.
"Tim (McLeod) ran well and so did Andrew Poore, but as a team we didn't really respond to the challenge," IU Director and Head Coach Ron Helmer said. "We're still young and very inexperienced at the championship level, and that is something that we will address and fix in the next couple days for the regional."
Next up for Indiana will be the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships in West Lafayette, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 15.
