Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Indiana men's cross country team finished fifth at the NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships with a team score of 169 points in the 10K race at the Varsity Cross Country Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
Senior Timothy McLeod led the men's team with a time of 32:03.4 to finish in 22nd. Redshirt senior Brennon Plotner finished in 23rd place with a time of 32:04.8. Redshirt freshman De'Sean Turner crossed the finish line in 32:14.5 to take 32nd place. Sophomore Cole Hardacre placed 41st with a time of 32:26.4, while classmate Ben Hubers wrapped up the Hoosier top-five with a time of 32:34.8 for 51st place.
"We did better today than we have, but I'm still a little disappointed that we were not able to do what I know is there," IU head coach Ron Helmer said. "We're not going to lower goals and expectations and just keep working harder and harder."
The NCAA will announce at-large berths for the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 17. The national meet will take place at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
