Indiana University's Jennifer Brown was named Big Ten Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. Brown helped lead the Hoosiers to an 84-77 victory over the two-time defending Big Ten champion Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. For the second straight week the St. Joseph, Ill. native set a school record, and this time added a Gladstein Fieldhouse record, with a mark of 18.42 (60' 5.25") in the weight throw, bettering her mark from the opening week by three feet. She posted a season team best mark of 16.09 (52' 9.5") in the shot put inching closer to the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 16.10 (52' 10").
Both the Indiana men's and women's track and field teams will
travel to Ohio State to face the Buckeyes along with Washington
and Western Carolina on Saturday, January 22 at 9 a.m.
