Bloomington,Ind. - The Hoosier cross country team arrived Sunday evening, August 24, for training camp at Chain-O-Lakes State Park near Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Head Coach Robert Chapman had this to say after the first day of camp.

"Our goal for the first meet is to let some of the younger guys get some experience and get a college cross country race under their belt. I know that (redshirt freshmen) Marcus Aguilar, Nick Kruse and Sean Threewits will run, and I'll probably send a few of the older guys out there to pace them and show them how to race.

"We're back at Chain-O-Lakes State Park because we really like the cabins and the trails. The cabins are very nice, and the trails are flat. We have done so much work on hills that it is nice to be on a flat course in order to build up miles. There are a lot of different recreational things to do here, and just having everyone together really helps team chemistry."

The Hoosiers open their 2003 campain this Friday, August 29, with the Indiana Open.
